2026 Potters Market Symposium and Artist Talk: ‘The Past, Present, and Future of North Carolina Ceramics’

Join ceramic artist and scholar Mark Hewitt for an engaging afternoon celebrating pottery and American craftsmanship. He'll share insights on North Carolina's ceramic heritage in his keynote lecture, "The Past, Present and Future of North Carolina Ceramics," followed by a thoughtful panel conversation with fellow artists Cynthia Bringle, Travis Owens, and Ibrahim Said. This is a free event that welcomes families interested in learning more about clay arts and the artists who shape this creative tradition. This symposium honors both the Mint's 20-year celebration of Potters Market at the Mint and America's 250th anniversary of craft traditions.
