Art Exploration

Drop-in art projects for all ages at Mooresville Public Library—this month: dinosaur tissue-paper painting.

Art Exploration is a drop-in creative activity where kids of any age can work on a hands-on art project with a parent or caregiver and take their finished piece home. Sessions run for two hours, and you're welcome to arrive anytime during that window. The program happens at either the Main or West location, so you can choose whichever works best for your family. Each week features a different craft tied to a themed topic. On July 27th, families will make pinch pots using air-dry clay and traditional hand-building methods that potters have relied on for thousands of years. Previous weeks in the series have included activities like tissue paper dinosaur paintings, bubble volcano art, straw rockets, scratchboard drawings, string paintings, and borax crystal geodes (which require hot water and patience). It's a great way to explore creativity with your child while taking home a handmade keepsake.
