Birding Walks at Visitor Pavilion
Join an experienced birdwatcher for a guided nature walk through the Garden's trails. Led by Gail Ice, a longtime volunteer and passionate birder, this walk is designed for everyone—whether your family has years of birdwatching experience or you're curious and just getting started. You'll learn about the local bird species that live in the Garden, discover where they like to hang out, and understand more about their behaviors. If you have binoculars at home, bring them along to get an even better look at the birds you spot.
The walk takes about an hour and requires no advance registration—just show up at the meeting spot and you're in. Wear comfortable hiking shoes and dress in layers since the walk happens rain or shine, and pack a rain jacket just in case. Keep in mind that pets aren't allowed on this walk, and everyone is asked to respect the wildlife and follow Leave No Trace principles. If you don't have a Garden membership and want to explore more of the grounds afterward, you'll need to purchase admission tickets separately.
