Birding Walks at Visitor Pavilion

Join an experienced birdwatcher for a guided nature walk through the Garden's trails. Led by Gail Ice, a longtime volunteer and avid birder, this outing welcomes everyone from complete beginners to seasoned bird enthusiasts. You'll learn about the bird species that live in the area, their habitats, and behaviors while exploring scenic spots along the walking paths. Bring your own binoculars if you have them to get a better look at what you spot. The walk takes place rain or shine, so dress in comfortable hiking shoes, layers, and rain gear just in case. This activity is open to all ages and requires no advance registration—simply show up at the Visitors Pavilion at the start time and join the group. Pets aren't permitted on the walk, and the Garden asks that all participants respect wildlife and follow Leave No Trace principles. If you'd like to explore the rest of the Garden after the walk ends, you'll need to purchase a day admission ticket (memberships are not required, but admission fees apply for non-members).
