Birding Walks

Guided birding walks at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden—spot birds and learn from experts.

Join a guided exploration of the birds living along the Garden's scenic trails. Led by experienced birdwatcher Gail Ice, a longtime Garden volunteer, this walk welcomes everyone—whether your family has never picked up binoculars or you're already passionate about birding. You'll learn about local bird species, their habitats, and behaviors while discovering beautiful spots throughout the property. If you have binoculars at home, bring them along to get a better view, though they're not required. No registration is needed—just show up at the Visitors Pavilion at the start time and you're ready to go. The walk happens rain or shine, so dress your family in comfortable hiking shoes, layers, and rain gear just in case. Keep in mind that pets aren't allowed on these walks. If you don't have a Garden membership and want to explore the botanical garden itself after the walk wraps up, you'll need to purchase separate admission tickets.
