Bookworm Bunch

Bookworm Bunch is a welcoming book club designed for young readers ages 5–8 who enjoy stories and creative activities. Each month, the group picks a single book to read and discuss together. The following week, members gather again to prepare a recipe inspired by their book selection, using a mobile kitchen unit called a Charlie Cart that brings all the cooking tools and ingredients needed right to the library. This particular session focuses on making chicken soup while connecting back to earlier book discussions. It's a hands-on way for children to engage with literature through cooking and taste. The club meets at the Statesville Library and runs from 4:00 to 5:00 PM.
