Bookworm Bunch

Bookworm Bunch brings together young readers in grades K–3 for a monthly book club experience that combines storytelling with hands-on learning. Kids aged 5–8 gather to discuss a chosen book as a group, then return the following week to create a recipe inspired by the story they've read. This month's session focuses on making ice cream together using a Charlie Cart—a fully equipped mobile kitchen that lets children prepare real food while connecting it back to their reading. This is a wonderful option for children who enjoy books and want to explore how stories can spark culinary creativity. The group meets at the Statesville Library Meeting Room, and registration opens on July 30th.
