Butterfly Pinning Workshop
Learn professional butterfly specimen pinning and preservation at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden.
In this hands-on workshop, participants will discover the art and science behind butterfly preservation. You'll learn the practical fundamentals of preparing and pinning butterflies so they can be preserved for years to come. Beyond the techniques themselves, the workshop explores why insect collections matter—their role in education, research, and conservation efforts. This session is ideal for budding collectors, nature lovers, and anyone curious about insects.
The workshop runs for 90 minutes and takes place in the Wren Room. It costs $80 per person, and garden admission or membership is required to participate (members get 15% off when logged into their account). This is a great opportunity for families with children who enjoy hands-on learning and nature exploration.
