Donkey Meet & Greet

Your family can spend time getting to know the donkeys living right here on the grounds. This is a chance to observe these animals up close and learn about them in their pasture setting. The experience is straightforward—you'll park at the Dairy Barn Entrance and follow Blue Star Trail past the Founders Dairy Barn toward Steele Creek until you spot the donkey pasture on your left, before you reach the Swinging Bridge. If you're coming from the Lake Haigler Entrance instead, head toward the Greenway Gateway visitor center, turn left on Blue Star Trail, cross the Swinging Bridge, and you'll find the pasture uphill on the right side. This is a wonderful outing for kids who love animals and enjoy spending time outdoors. The activity pairs well with exploring the trails in the area, and afterward, families can grab refreshments at the Greenway Canteen on the way back. The event runs regularly throughout the fall season, so you have multiple opportunities to visit. It's a relaxed, accessible way to connect with the animals and enjoy the natural space.
