Donkey Meet & Greet

Your family can spend time with the donkeys that live at the Greenway! This interactive experience gives kids a chance to get up close and learn about these friendly animals. From the Dairy Barn Entrance, simply park and walk past the historic Founders Dairy Barn along Blue Star Trail toward Steele Creek—you'll find the donkey pasture on your left before you reach the Swinging Bridge. If you're entering from Lake Haigler instead, head toward the Greenway Gateway visitor center, turn left on Blue Star Trail, cross the Swinging Bridge, and look for the pasture uphill on the right side. This is a wonderful activity for animal-loving children of all ages. The event runs regularly on Saturday mornings, so you have multiple opportunities to visit throughout the fall season. After your donkey encounter, consider making a full outing of it by stopping at the Greenway Canteen on your way back for a meal or snack. It's a simple, accessible way to combine outdoor exploration with hands-on animal interaction.
