Family Chess Club at Mint Hill Library (ages 5-18)
Family chess club teaching strategy, problem-solving & tactics for ages 5–18.
Your child can join other young chess enthusiasts for an hour of play and learning at the library. During the session, kids will pick up chess fundamentals, discover winning strategies and tactics, and put their knowledge to the test through one-on-one matches and group games. Whether your child is just learning the rules or already competing at a high level, there's a place for them here—all skill levels are genuinely welcome.
The club is run by dedicated volunteers from Mint Hill Library and meets most Saturday afternoons. There's no need to sign up in advance, and best of all, it's completely free. This is a great way for kids ages 5 and up to develop problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking while having fun in a supportive group setting.
