Free Guided Docent Tour

Bring the kids for a leisurely Saturday morning learning about the gardens and grounds at Stowe. A knowledgeable volunteer docent will guide your family through the space, sharing stories about the area's history, its natural habitats, and the plants and gardens on display. The tour lasts about an hour and wraps up by noon, making it easy to fit into your weekend plans. This guided tour is completely free and doesn't require advance sign-up—just show up at the Garden Pavilion lobby at 11 a.m. The tour works best for children ages five and older. Keep in mind that each tour accommodates up to 20 people, and if you're not a member of the conservancy, you'll need to pay regular garden admission to participate. Tours run Saturdays from March through October.
