Free Guided Docent Tour
Expert-led garden tour at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden reveals plants and landscapes.
Meet a knowledgeable volunteer guide for a relaxed afternoon exploring the gardens at their best. These free Sunday tours walk you through the grounds, sharing stories about the property's history, the plants you'll see, and the different habitats that make this space special. It's a casual way to learn more about what's growing around you—no need to sign up ahead of time. Just show up at the Garden Pavilion lobby when the tour starts.
Keep in mind that tours are capped at 20 people, so arriving on time helps ensure a spot. The experience works best for kids five and older who can comfortably walk and listen along the way. While the tour itself is free, non-member families will need to purchase garden admission to participate. These guided walks happen every Sunday through September, making it easy to plan a return visit if you'd like to explore a different season.
