Free Guided Docent Tour

Bring the whole family for a behind-the-scenes look at the garden with one of our knowledgeable volunteer guides. These free Sunday tours take you through the grounds to learn about the property's history, the plants that grow here, different habitats, and so much more. The tour meets in the Garden Pavilion lobby and holds up to 20 people, so it's an intimate experience without feeling crowded. There's no need to sign up ahead of time—just show up at 1:30 p.m. on Sundays during the April-through-September season. Kids ages 5 and up tend to enjoy these tours best. Keep in mind that if you're not a member, you'll need to pay regular garden admission to participate. It's a great way to deepen your family's connection to the space while picking up interesting facts you might otherwise miss.
