Free Guided Docent Tour

Bring the family for a behind-the-scenes look at the gardens with one of our knowledgeable volunteer guides. These free Saturday morning tours run from March through September and cover everything from the property's history and plant collections to the different habitats you'll encounter throughout the grounds. The guide will help you discover details you might otherwise miss, making it a great way to deepen your appreciation for what the gardens have to offer. The tours last about an hour and accommodates up to 20 people, so arrive early to secure your spot. No registration is needed—just show up at the Garden Pavilion lobby at 11 a.m. on any Saturday during the season. Keep in mind that while the tour itself is free, non-members will need to purchase general garden admission. Kids ages 5 and up will enjoy the experience and learn something new.
