Free Guided Docent Tour

Your family can enjoy a free guided tour led by knowledgeable volunteers who'll share fascinating stories about the garden's plants, history, and ecosystems. These Saturday morning sessions run through September and last about an hour. The expert docents make the experience engaging for everyone, pointing out details you might otherwise miss as you wander through the grounds. Tours meet in the Garden Pavilion lobby and accommodate up to 20 people, so it's an intimate group experience. Just show up at 11 a.m.—no registration required. The tour itself is completely free, though garden admission does apply for non-members. Kids ages 5 and up tend to get the most out of it, though younger siblings are welcome. Note that there are a couple of Saturdays when tours don't run (June 27 and July 4), so it's worth checking ahead if those dates were on your mind.
