Free Guided Docent Tour

A knowledgeable volunteer will guide your family through the gardens on a leisurely, educational tour covering the property's history, different habitats, and plant collections. These Saturday morning tours are completely free to attend—no advance sign-up needed. Just show up at the Garden Pavilion lobby at 11 a.m. and you're ready to explore. Each tour welcomes up to 20 people and typically runs about an hour. Keep in mind that while the tour itself is free, garden admission does apply for non-members. The tours run Saturdays from March through September, making them a great way to enjoy the grounds throughout the growing season. Kids ages 5 and up will get the most out of the experience. Note that no tours are scheduled on certain Saturdays, so it's worth checking ahead before your visit.
