Free Guided Docent Tour

Join a knowledgeable volunteer guide for a leisurely walk through the gardens at Stowe. Your docent will share insights about the property's history, the various habitats and plants you'll encounter, and the different garden areas. It's a wonderful way to learn more about what makes this place special while enjoying the outdoor spaces with your family. There's no charge for the tour itself, and you don't need to sign up ahead of time—just show up at the Garden Pavilion lobby at the start time. Keep in mind that while the tour is free, non-member visitors will need to pay standard garden admission. The tour accommodates up to 20 people and works best for children ages five and up. Tours last about an hour.
