Front Lawn Fun @ VMHC
Outdoor lawn games and activities at the Virginia Museum of History and Culture.
Bring your kids to the Virginia Museum of History and Culture's front lawn for a summer of games and play. Museum educators will lead activities featuring traditional games from history and cultures around the world—think yurt nori, stick horse races, kanche, and more. This series ties in with the museum's current exhibition, "We The People: The World in Our Commonwealth," making it a chance to learn while having fun together. The program runs Tuesday mornings throughout the summer and welcomes all ages, though it's especially geared toward elementary and middle school kids.
This is a casual, no-pressure event: just show up anytime between 10 and noon—no registration needed and no admission fee. Games happen outdoors on the museum's lawn, so check the museum's social media (@virginiahistory or @vmhceducation) if weather looks questionable, as they may cancel for severe conditions. It's a relaxed way to spend a Tuesday morning without any of the usual logistical headaches.
