Kandi Krush

Kandi Krush

Kandi bracelet craft activity at the library.

Teens ages 12–18 are invited to learn about the peyote stitch, an ancient beading technique with deep roots in Indigenous cultures. During this one-hour workshop, participants will create their own peyote stitch kandi cuff while gaining insight into the cultural significance and history behind this traditional craft. It's a hands-on way to explore art history and technique while making something wearable to take home. Registration is required and spaces are limited to 12 participants. You can sign up online or by calling the library starting June 24. There are only a few seats available, so registering early is a good idea. This program fits nicely into the library's broader focus on arts literacy—helping young people understand art forms, discuss them thoughtfully, and learn through creative making.
