Kids Art Workshop: TetraPak Printmaking Session 1
Learn intaglio printmaking techniques in a hands-on workshop at Mattatuck Museum.
Your child will dive into printmaking basics with instructors from the Creative Arts Workshop in New Haven. During this one-hour session, students will explore intaglio printing techniques using recycled TetraPak materials and water-based inks. They'll cut their own shapes, design original artwork, and learn the inking and printing process hands-on. The workshop ties into the museum's current exhibition About Face: 250 Years of American Portrait Art, so kids will focus on creating self-portraits while experimenting with different lines, shapes, and colors.
This is a collaborative experience where children can work with a partner to print images together, making it a great choice for kids who enjoy creative, hands-on activities. The workshop is free to attend. Parent supervision is required, so plan to stay with your child throughout the session. To sign up, visit the Mattatuck Museum's calendar page online. This event is sponsored by Art Bridges.
