Learning the Seven Art Elements Series

This series introduces adults to the seven foundational elements that artists use to create visual work: line, shape, form, space, color, value, and texture. Through exploring each element, you'll learn how line directs the viewer's eye, how shape and form differ between flat and three-dimensional artwork, and how space creates depth. You'll discover why color and value matter for mood and dimension, and how texture adds richness to a piece—whether real or suggested on the surface. This program is designed for adults 18 and up who want to build a stronger understanding of art and develop their ability to think creatively. By the end, you'll have a deeper appreciation for how artists use these building blocks to express ideas and connect with viewers.
