Master Naturalist Advanced Training: Forgotten Grasslands of the Carolinas

Join Dr. Robert Carter from Clemson Extension for a half-day program diving into South Carolina's native grasslands—ecosystems that once covered the state from mountains to coast but now exist only in scattered remnants. This advanced training session combines an informative presentation about the history, ecology, and conservation importance of these landscapes with a hands-on guided walk through the Dottie Metzler Prairie. You'll get to experience one of these rare habitats up close and learn about restoration efforts underway to bring them back. This program is designed for Master Naturalist participants seeking advanced training hours toward their annual requirements.
