Once Upon a Lap

Bonding storytimes with songs, fingerplays, and movement for babies and caregivers.

Once Upon a Lap is a six-week storytime program designed for babies and toddlers from birth through 23 months, with a caregiver. Each session includes stories, songs, fingerplays, and movement activities that encourage bonding and early learning. The program focuses on social and emotional development, helping little ones begin to recognize and respond to feelings while building the foundation for respectful relationships. Registration is required and opens August 31 by calling (803) 981-5888 or registering online. The program is limited to 30 children, and organizers ask that you bring only your registered child. This is a popular program, so spots fill up quickly—it's worth reaching out early if you're interested in joining.
