Open Play at the Nixon Park Nature Area

Kids of all ages can head to Nixon Park for some hands-on exploration in the Exploration Forest. The nature center provides buckets filled with tools like sifters, magnifying glasses, nets, and basic kitchen supplies—everything you need to investigate the stream and muddy banks. Just remember to pack water shoes and a towel so your children can get messy and have fun without worrying about their regular clothes. This unstructured playtime is available daily during regular park hours at no cost, making it a great option for a spontaneous outdoor adventure.
