Open Play at the Nixon Park Nature Area

Kids can explore and play freely at Nixon Park's nature area during regular park hours. The nature center offers a collection of discovery tools available to borrow from the front desk, including buckets filled with sifters, magnifying glasses, nets, and basic kitchen supplies. These are perfect for investigating the Exploration Forest stream and muddy banks, making this an ideal spot for curious kids who love getting hands-on with nature. This outdoor adventure is completely free and welcomes families of all sizes. Just remember to have your children wear water shoes and bring a towel for cleanup afterward.
