Paws to Read
Build reading confidence by reading aloud to a therapy dog at the library.
Is your child building reading confidence? This program pairs young readers with a gentle therapy dog, giving kids ages 6 through 11 a chance to practice reading aloud in a supportive, low-pressure setting. Students take turns reading to the dog, which many children find encouraging and fun. The experience supports literacy development while boosting comfort with reading.
You'll need to register ahead of time—spots are limited, so sign up online or call the library to secure your child's place. Registered participants will receive a confirmation call the day before to confirm attendance. This helps the library manage the waitlist and give other families an opportunity to join if needed.
