Paws to Read
Read aloud to a friendly therapy dog in this literacy program at York County Library.
Children ages 6–11 can sign up for this special reading program where they'll take turns reading aloud to a trained therapy dog. It's a wonderful way for young readers to build confidence and enjoy books in a supportive, low-pressure setting. Registration is required and opens November 2 at 9:00 a.m., so families should sign up online or call (803) 222-3474 to secure a spot.
Once registered, you'll receive a confirmation call the day before the event to verify attendance. This helps the library accommodate anyone on the waiting list if needed. The program is designed to help children develop strong literacy skills while enjoying the comfort and encouragement of a furry friend.
