Paws to Read at South County Regional Library (grades K-5)

Read aloud to friendly therapy dogs and boost reading confidence at the library.

**Paws to Read at South County Regional Library** Does your child love animals and books? This program pairs young readers with friendly therapy dogs to build confidence while practicing reading aloud. Kids in grades K–5 can bring a favorite book from home or select one from the library's collection. Reading to a calm, patient dog creates a low-pressure environment perfect for reluctant or nervous readers. Sessions are 15 minutes long, and spots fill up quickly—each family can register for one session per week, with a maximum of two children participating. Best of all, the program is completely free. To sign up, call the library and select option 2 when prompted. Check the library's events calendar for upcoming dates beyond the one listed here, so you can find a time that works for your family.
