Remembered Story Trail Through the Wetlands

Self-guided story trail through wetlands at Nixon Park; walk daily during park hours.

This self-guided adventure invites families to explore Nixon Park's wetlands while following along with an engaging story. Starting from the parking area, you'll make your way across the wetland bridge and into the forest, reading story pages at each stop as you discover the natural surroundings. It's a wonderful way to combine a nature walk with storytelling, perfect for curious kids who enjoy both outdoor exploration and imaginative narratives. The trail is available daily during regular park hours at no cost, making it an accessible outing for families of all sizes. If you're planning to bring a group of 10 or more people, advance registration is required—just call (717) 428-1961 x1 or email NixonCountyPark@YorkCountyPA.gov with your group size, the ages of children attending, and a contact number. This activity works well for elementary-aged children and older kids who can comfortably walk the trail and engage with the story elements.
