Remembered Story Trail Through the Wetlands
Self-guided story trail through Nixon Park's wetlands—walk and discover tales along the way.
Your family can explore Nixon Park at their own pace with this self-guided story trail. Starting from the parking area, you'll make your way across the wetland bridge and into the surrounding forest, stopping along the way to read pages of an unfolding story. It's a wonderful way to combine nature time with storytelling, letting kids (and adults!) discover the narrative as you walk the scenic path.
The trail is available daily during regular park hours, and best of all, admission is completely free. If you're planning to visit with a group of 10 or more people, you'll need to register ahead of time by calling (717) 428-1961 x1 or emailing NixonCountyPark@YorkCountyPA.gov. When you reach out, just provide your name, the number of people in your group, the children's ages, and a contact number. This activity works well for families of all ages who enjoy gentle outdoor exploration.
