Remembered Story Trail Through the Wetlands

Self-guided story trail through Nixon Park wetlands—nature walk with a narrative twist.

Take your family on a self-guided storytelling adventure through Nixon Park's natural landscape. Starting from the parking area, you'll follow story pages that lead you across the wetland bridge and into the forest. As you walk the trail, read each page of the story unfolds at different stops along the way. It's a wonderful way to combine outdoor exploration with imaginative play, giving kids a reason to stay engaged during your nature walk. This activity is free and available daily during regular park hours, making it flexible for your schedule. Families of all sizes are welcome to explore at their own pace. However, if you're planning to bring a group of 10 or more people, advance registration is required—just call (717) 428-1961 x1 or email NixonCountyPark@YorkCountyPA.gov with your group's details, including the number of participants and children's ages. It's a lovely low-cost outing that combines fresh air, storytelling, and family time.
