Stories from the Streets
Storytelling program celebrating community at York County Library.
Stories from the Streets is a writing workshop open to adults of all experience levels—whether you're a seasoned writer or picking up a pen for the first time. Led by Matt Shaw from Speak Up Magazine, a publication created by people experiencing homelessness, this session focuses on building confidence and creativity through guided discussion and writing prompts. Everything you need is provided, including a notebook and pen, so you can come as you are.
This is a welcoming, judgment-free space designed for genuine conversation and creative exploration. No registration is needed, though space is limited to 25 participants. The workshop connects writing with the library's broader commitment to arts literacy and creative thinking, making it a meaningful way to express yourself and connect with others in your community.
