Teen Chess Club at Matthews Library (ages 12-18)
Teens sharpen strategy and problem-solving skills in a casual chess club.
Your teen chess players are invited to drop in for a casual game or two at this weekly club. The program brings together young chess enthusiasts ages 12–18 to enjoy the game together in a relaxed setting. Just a heads-up: this isn't an instructional program, so participants should already be familiar with how to play chess.
Chess is a fantastic way for teens to sharpen their minds—it builds problem-solving abilities, strategic thinking, and cooperation skills. The program is completely free to attend. Since spaces fill up, we recommend registering ahead of time to guarantee your teen's spot. Just head to the library's events page to sign up.
